Conference Announcement

 The BAAC 15th Annual Conference will be held from November 7 – 9, 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia. The conference will be hosted by the Estonian Film Museum. A new modern venue was opened in 2017. The Museum has engaging interactive exhibition about filmmaking process as well as a modern cinema hall with the possibility for conferences and small theatre plays.

The main theme of this year’s conference is concerned with sharing experiences in making audiovisual (AV) archival material visible and usable for a wider audience.

We invite you to share and discuss cases and projects involving audiovisual materials – how was information about audiovisual material and its data made more visible, what were the obstacles encountered, what were the solutions, and what were the promotion strategies to increase the use?

 

The following topics are offered as starting points:

• Promotion and visibility of audiovisual archival materials
• Usage of audiovisual materials for educational purposes
• Best practices for user-friendly enviroments/platforms
• Audiovisual archival material and copyright issues
• Main concerns, obstacles and solutions in digital and publishing enviroments
