BAAC workshop for teachers 2022

The idea was to introduce and encourage teachers to use archival institution collections for their lessons (photos, videos, music, sounds). The workshop took place at the Estonian Film Museum.

The user-friendly media libraries Meediateek and Arkaader of the Estonian National Archives were introduced. These are environments where you can get to know the film, photo, and sound collections of the Estonian National Archives and, if you wish, order them.

Maarja Hindoalla and Jarmo Nagel from Film Archive of the National Archives were present.

Also, Europeana, an online service created on the initiative and support of the European Commission, aimed to mediate the digital collections of European libraries, museums, and archives to the public through a single portal, had a 45-minute recorded session. The latter has very useful tools aimed at teachers. Isabel Crespo, Education Specialist and Education Community Leader at Europeana, was behind this useful video that can be seen here.

National Archives of Latvia (portal Hear and See, Latvia!) and the Virtual Film Archive of Lithuania called E-kinas introduced the capabilities that these databases offer. First was a
prerecorded video by Evita Jance, Chief Archivist of the Usage Department of the National Archives of Latvia and can be seen here.

And from Lithuania, Jolė Stimbirytė, Head of the Department of Technical Control of Documents of the Central State Archives of Lithuania, was present at the workshop.
